We had a great time! The half day was perfect for our trip.

Update : came back again this time my 5 year old did climb. Taylor was wonderful and patient. Listened to my daughter point out probably 100 mushrooms along our walk. My daughter climbed as will as a 3 year old my friend dauggter. I climbed and so did my girlfriends husband. Great experience. Had a great experience! Andy was very kind and helpful. He was also very good with my young daughter who didn’t climb but was just hanging out with all of us. I would definitely recommend this company to anyone. Also, thanks Andy for making me feel like a rockstar climber even though I’m just a beginner. Great company

We went on a 4+ hour guided top rope climb in May 2025 at Muir Valley. Our guide, Becca, was very skillful, patient with new climbers, and was a pleasure to spend 1/2 the day with. The choice of location was perfect and a beautiful piece of the gorge.

I had a wonderful whole day of climbing with Simon today. A true professional, gentleman, and lovely human. Will not hesitate to book him again if I need a climbing partner for the day or am climbing with new climbers (or like, just cuz he’s a pleasant dude.). I learned a lot, I climbed a bunch, and had a super nice day of hanging out in the woods. I feel like he really quickly had a grasp on my skill level and picked routes accordingly. Honestly could not have found a better way to spend a 90+ degree day in the Red!

All of the guides did an excellent job, especially the lead guide, Alex. Thank you!

Our guide Alex was great! We were coming from a gym environment to learn how to climb outside. He demonstrated what we needed to do to be safe and incorporated it with the best routes for us to climb given our skill level. Fun time with ton of learning!

Beautiful place to climb and Simon was a great guide with a great attitude and lots of knowledge. Simon was very attentive and took care of us on the rock, made sure we were safe out there and made the experience extremely fun! Unforgetable experience and highly recommended.

We had such a great climbing experience with Ben and Alex! We had a bigger group, with adults and children ages 7-11. Everyone felt included and challenged, and an amazing time was had by all! The guides emphasized all of the safety checks that they do each time they climb, which was appreciated by the adults. I would definitely recommend this group of climbing guides, absolutely.

Our guide Simon was amazing! He took care of everything. Provided all necessary gear, helped size it, found us climbs at our level on a rainy day and hanging out with him was the highlight of our trip for our two eight year olds. Highly recommend! Hoping to get back and climb with him again… or hire him permanently to watch the kids!

Taylor guided a friend and myself. The experience was laid back and informative. We got everything we wanted out of our experience. I'll hire these guides the next time that I climb in the Gorge.

Matt was very knowledgable and very confident as our guide which you want when you have limited top rope experience and limited experience climbing outdoors. My wife has limited bouldering experience, while I'm a moderately skilled (mostly) indoor boulderer. He met us right where we were at, helped us avoid the crowds, and put us on routes that were very appropriate for both our skill level and what we asked for. We spent our day in Muir Valley and thoroughly enjoyed the climbs. He set us up for success and we had an EXCELLENT day in the forest climbing. It was clear with his interactions with other climbers and guides that he is a well-liked and important part of the unique climbing culture in RRG. Thanks for a great trip!

My experience was part of my friend’s bachelorette and we all had such a blast! Taylor was our guide and he added to the spark of our experience. His professionalism and expertise really showed us that we were in good hands. He made us feel safe, comfortable, and most of all, that we were fully capable of whatever challenges that were presented before us during our climb. We greatly appreciated his encouragement. So glad I got a guide. I have lead experience, but I was traveling alone and didn’t have much time at the red to find a partner or pick the best routes. David made it easy to make the best of a half day. Got in 6 good routes on very enjoyable rock.

First time outdoor rock climbing and it was incredible! Alex was super knowledge, helpful, and reassuring. My partner and I went with a wide experience gap and he was able to accommodate both of us and help us get the most out of our trip. I would highly recommend the guided top rope climb for beginners and I plan on going back for more advanced guided climbs in the future. Thanks for an awesome time!

Me and my girlfriend did the gym to crag class with Ian. He’s a good guy to be around, great instructor, and passionate about what he does. I went from kind of knowing how to clean a route in a disorganized/cluttered way to having a nearly automated, consistent routine.

I had also only lead climbed a few bolts in the past and my gf had only belayed for top rope. Ian was able to give her the oversight necessary to get her confidently belaying me while I lead which is exactly what I hoped to get out of the day.

Had a fantastic time with Ian. His background as an educator made him a great guide for my friend who was new to climbing. He expertly taught him the basics and had him climbing safely with technique.

I was impressed with how Ian navigated a crowded spot and efficiently set up routes so I could climb multiple different spots in just a half day.

We had a blast. I HIGHLY recommend.

Me and my gf got Simon, who was absolutely fantastic! He was so knowledgeable and encouraging. He taught us a ton of technique and skills and pushed us to climb things just outside of our comfort zone. And we did them!! It feels so good to be challenged and we feel so much more confident after learning from the best! We also got to climb some lesser known crags so the inside knowledge is super cool too. Thanks Simon!

Taylor was a great guide! He made me feel comfortable trying some challenging routes that would have otherwise intimidated me. He's patient and a great hype man. Highly recommend

Matt, has gone above and beyond teaching me the art climbing. I was able to go from gym to crag to lead climbing! I still have a lot to learn but I’m confident that Matt and his team will get me to the next level with their coaching. Super excited for the next trip to the Red with Red River Climbing Guides!
