Had a fantastic time with Ian. His background as an educator made him a great guide for my friend who was new to climbing. He expertly taught him the basics and had him climbing safely with technique.

I was impressed with how Ian navigated a crowded spot and efficiently set up routes so I could climb multiple different spots in just a half day.

We had a blast. I HIGHLY recommend.

So glad I got a guide. I have lead experience, but I was traveling alone and didn’t have much time at the red to find a partner or pick the best routes. David made it easy to make the best of a half day. Got in 6 good routes on very enjoyable rock.

Had the most amazing experience with Red River Climbing Guides. I had a trip planned with a group of 8 others and reached out to a number of guide companies in the area. Matt's professionalism and his ability to cater to our exact needs helped inform my decision. Leading up to our guide day the guides (Ian and David, both phenomenal) made contact and checked in with the needs of our group. It was great that we were able to have two guides for our large group. Day of nothing could have been better. They managed to make everyone happy and satisfied from those who had never climbed outside before to those with lots of experience. Everyone learned lots and the extra knowledge increased the enjoyment for the rest of our trip tenfold. While staying professional and making sure we got the most out of the time the guys were still awesome to have around the whole day and really made it fun. As a group that splurged on this to begin with we had zero hesitation further splurging on a tip for these guys. I could not recommend enough.

Ian was an awesome climbing guide for my 14 year old daughter. He was patient, kind, and had very good communication skills. He put her safety first and encouraged her along the way. We look forward to going back and using Red river Climbing Guides again!

Amazing experience with RRCG! Me and my two boys (6 and 8) had so much fun, climbing in Muir Valley with Matt. Gave him a brief description of our comfort levels and capabilities and he found the perfect wall for us on short notice. Even took some amazing pictures for us!

This was a great guide service to work with. They were super communicative from the start and had no problem working with me to help me get exactly what I wanted from the experience. I spent a full day learning gear placement and trad anchors from a guide named Ian. Not only was Ian extremely knowledgeable and an awesome instructor, he was also a great guy to hang out with.I’ll be back in the area next year and will definitely be scheduling another full day of climbing with Ian.

My wife and I climbed with Andy. He’s a great guide and I would request him for a return trip. He was very friendly and knowledgeable. I have some experience but my wife was climbing real rock for the first time. She felt safe the whole time and Andy talked her through some tougher spots in a very professional and friendly manner. I will say that a text or email a day or two before the trip would have been nice. When I didn’t hear anything I searched my email and found the original confirmation that had meeting location and time. Not a big deal but I’ve used other guide services in other parts of the country that reach out again right before the trip. Regardless I would not hesitate to use this guide service again and hopefully with Andy.
